What we do

We are the voice for over 150 companies across the UK in Post Production, VFX, Animation, TV & Film Studios and Production Services. Together, we provide the collective clout that individual businesses cannot achieve alone.

How we do it

When the big decisions are made, the views of companies in our sector need to be taken into account. On their behalf, we proactively raise issues, drive the debate and lobby to influence the UK Government and other stakeholder organisations.

How we do it

When making critical business decisions, you need to know all the facts. To assist our members, we constantly scan the horizon for opportunities and threats that arise. They will receive early, pertinent, and verified information through working groups and newsletters, allowing them to make the right choices for their company’s future.

Who We Interact With

We seek to influence UK Government, MPs and Peers, Government Departments, Opposition Spokespersons and Regional and Local Government, UK Public Sector Broadcasters and OFCOM

We liaise with the Creative Industries Council, Creative Industries Federation, ScreenSkills, National and Regional Screen and Creative Agencies, British Film Institute, British Film Commission, and other creative sector trade organisations.

The Board

The board of directors provides our overall governance . Directors are nominated by the Animation and Facilities Councils

Animation UK Council

The Animation UK Council is elected by our animation members and decides our policies for the sector

UK Screen Facilities Council

The Facilities Council decides our policies affecting facilities and service providers in post, VFX and studios. Representatives are elected by our facilities members.

2004 – Founded with seed funding from DTI/UK Film Council. Originally called UK Post with membership from VFX houses and post production companies.

2006 - Expanded our remit to include studios, location services and hire companies. Changed our name to UK Screen Association.
